A steady heartbeat of care for Black single mothers.

Start Giving $10/month

$10/month is the most powerful gift when thousands of us do it together.

We’re building an ecosystem of steady care.

1,000 people giving $10 each month to help sustain the programs, spaces, and possibilities created
for Black single mothers.

This is not a charity model. It’s a practice of shared responsibility and trust.

A way of resourcing a future where Black single mothers are supported, witnessed, and free to thrive.

Why Monthly?

Stability
Over Spikes

Care
Over Charity

This is not a one-off donation: it’s an ongoing commitment to our mutual flourishing.

Collective Power

1 person x $10 = helpful.

1,000 people x $10 = $10,000 every monthtransformational.

Movement,
Not a Moment

All donations help us survive as an organization. But what we’re building here is about more than survival—it’s about creating the conditions to thrive.

For most grassroots organizations doing deep, liberatory work, underfunding is the norm. We refuse to accept that as the standard. To tell the truth about what it means to be a Black single mother in the United States, and to move at the speed that care requires, we have to stay resourced and autonomous.

One Thousand Hands is how we do that.

When many people give a little, we build the kind of broad base that keeps us free. Free to tell the truth, free to move quickly when mamas need support, and free from the limitations of institutional gatekeeping.

This is how we fund our freedom.

What $10/month
Makes Possible

Your $10/month sustains the heartbeat of our organization—the programs, the people, and the possibility.

It keeps our core offerings alive and gives us the stability to dream beyond them. It funds not only the visible work of care, but the invisible labor that makes that care possible, the labor of Black women and Black single mothers organizing, coordinating, and holding it all together.

Recurring support is what allows us to move from surviving to thriving.

It’s what keeps us autonomous, responsive, and able to tell the truth about what it means to mother in a system not built for our thriving.

  • Labor

    of Love

The everyday, often unseen work of Black women and mothers who hold this ecosystem with integrity and care.

  • Rapid Response &
    Expansion

The ability to say yes when mamas need support, and to bring new visions to life without waiting for permission or grants.

  • Autonomy &
    Truth Telling

The freedom to move at our own pace and tell the truth about what it means to be a Black single mother in the United States.

If you’d like to give
more than $10/month...

Most of our community will join at $10/month, and that’s exactly what this movement is built on. Some people have the capacity (or the desire) to give more.
