Loving Black Single Mothers exists because there are very few places where Black single mothers are the center.
Not included. Not accommodated. Not considered after the fact.
Centered.
In most motherhood spaces, your reality has to be adjusted in order to fit. There are assumptions about partnership, about support, about what motherhood looks like, and those assumptions shape everything from the conversations that happen to the care that is available.
This is not that.
This is a space created by and for Black single mothers, where your life is the starting point.
Inside Loving Black Single Mothers, we are doing a few things at once.
We are building community and connection among Black single mothers navigating similar circumstances.
We are creating space for reflection, conversation, and learning that does not ask you to explain or minimize your reality.
And we are moving money.
Through our financial ecosystems, we redistribute resources directly to mothers throughout the year. These opportunities are limited in size, and not every member will receive financial support at all times.
That is the reality we are working within.
And still, we believe there is value in being part of something that practices care, relationship, and resource-sharing differently.
To take part in any of our offerings, membership is required.
Membership is how we hold the integrity of this space.
It allows us to know who is inside, to move with intention, and to build something that is relational rather than anonymous.
As a member, you are part of this community. You are eligible to participate in our financial ecosystems, and you have access to Dreamspace, where we gather, connect, and remain in relationship beyond the moments when money is moving.
Membership is not a guarantee of financial support. It is an entry into a space where support takes multiple forms and where your experience is centered rather than pushed to the edges.
Becoming a member requires attending a live orientation.
Orientation is where we walk through what Loving Black Single Mothers is all about, how we work, and what it means to be part of this space.
It is a required step for anyone seeking support from us.
We host orientation once a year, with limited space available.
If you are interested in joining, the first step is to add your name to our interest list. From there, you will receive information about upcoming orientation sessions and how to register.
